  • Replicates Natural Diet: Makes a liquid nectar that replicates the natural diet.
  • Convenient Storage: Nectar can be stored frozen in ice-cube trays and thawed out as required.

Ingredients: Sucrose, glucose, maltodextrin, whey protein, casein, vegetable oils, omega-3 & 6 fatty acids, carotenoids, vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, B12, C, D3, E, K, biotin, choline, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, zinc, iron, manganese, copper, iodine, selenium.

Directions:

  • To Make 500mL: Half fill bottle with warm water and shake to disperse powder. Then fill bottle with more water and shake.
  • Store nectar in the refrigerator for one day or freeze for up to one month. Freeze small portions in ice-cube trays and thaw-out as required. Do not refreeze thawed nectar.
  • For added variety and flavour, make-up using half water and half fruit juice.

Feeding Captive Birds:

  • Use Nectar Shake 'N' Make as a treat for captive lorikeets, lories & honeyeaters. Do not overfeed as this is wasteful and may cause obesity in captive birds. Birds should be offered fresh fruit and blossom daily.

Supplementing Wild Birds:

  • Wombaroo Nectar Shake 'N' Make can be used as a supplement for attracting native birds into the garden.
  • Set up an elevated feeding station and provide the prepared food in a shallow, glazed bowl or feeding tube.
  • Ration daily feed to no more than 10mL per lorikeet or 5mL per honeyeater.
  • Always limit the amount of food offered to reduce dependence on the food.
  • Remove the bowl after feeding and thoroughly clean it to prevent disease transmission.
  • Be aware that attracting birds into the garden may also attract predators, so steps may need to be taken to avoid this problem.

For Larger Volumes:

  • If feeding larger volumes, use the Wombaroo Lorikeet & Honeyeater Food, as this is available in more cost-effective bulk sizes and made up at a higher concentration. This product also comes with suggested maintenance feed volumes per day.
